500 days of summer (2009)

hey there. it's a new week and a new movie to share peoples. this week movie is 500 days of summer. directed by Marc Webb. well before i talk about the movie let me share you a little information about the directer first. Marc Webb is more to a music video directer more to a movie directer. he have produce more music video more then movie. such as Daniel Powter - "Lie To Me" music video or Maroon 5 - "Goodnight, Goodnight" so on and so forth. so 500 days of summer is probably the first movie he ever direct. so the way he film it is actually quite unique then other movie.

now lets talk about the story. is really a typical romance story when you start watching it the first few minutes. guy meets girl and girl meets guy. guy fall for the girl and start dating the girl. but this is where the weird part comes in. girl date the guy but then she didn't claim that they are together. and then through out the story they slowly shows you that they weren't really dating at all. and of cause they will have some kissing scene and sex scene. but after all this happen the girl still never once say that the guy was her boy friend. and at the end of the story you will found out that all the relationship thing is only the guys one side imaginary. they kisses and have sex and do every thing that couples will do. but then all the girl wants is probably just a guy that will keep her company. some one like a sex friend or similar to that. in the end the girl merry to some other guy and that guy finally realize that he is just being used and decided to move on with his life.

that is basically how the story goes. is not really a bad idea for a romance story. but what make it interesting is the way they show the story. the way Marc Webb show it make the whole thing interesting. at first he only show that how happy the two of them were when they were together. and then all of a sudden the girl ask for break up. and then this is where the story start to make some sense. they show how the two of them meet and how the started out. but all of a sudden they show you their arguing scene. is a total dramatic changes. but that is what make it so interesting. through out the story they combine flash back and current time line. although you might be confuse at first. but then when you watch till the end you will get the whole story of the guy and the girl. and the title really speaks it all. 500 days of summer is the 500 days the guy spend with the girl named summer. i enjoy watching this movie a lot for the interesting way of story telling. and hope you enjoy it as well. =) and let me end this post with my favourite scene through out the whole movie. the part after summer get married and meet the guy at one of his favourite spot in the city and they talk.
